Rolling Into the New Year
As the year draws to a close, let’s take a moment to savor the journey—every thrilling match, every cocktail-fueled laugh, every new face that’s joined our little backgammon revolution. To our seasoned pros and our fresh recruits: you’ve kept the energy high and the rolls even higher.
But darlings, the fun’s just getting started. 2025 kicks off in style with our first best-of-of-three tournament at Paya Miami on January 9 (Partiful link), followed by a cozy change of pace at Soho Beach House on January 15 (Register on the app). Backgammon isn’t just a game—it’s a love affair with strategy, connection, and that perfect face-to-face spark. Miami, of course, is the ultimate muse.
Oh, and did we mention? Our Instagram is thriving, and now we’re flirting with TikTok too. Next year promises even more surprises, and you’ll want to be front-row for it all.
A special shoutout to our exceptional partners—Hemptress and Nuda Sunless, two brilliant, female-founded companies, whose support has been nothing short of magical. And to Labify Health—thank you for helping us stay sharp and healthy, inside and out. Our cherished venues, MB Hotel, Kalypso, and Soho House, that opened their doors for us to start this adventure. Lastly to Chill’N Coconut Groove ice cream for making a sweet night event sweeter.

Backgammon Tip to Elevate Your Game
Build a Prime: Aim for a sequence of six consecutive blocked points—this is called a “prime.” It’s one of the most effective ways to trap your opponent.

Backgammon Through the Ages
A Game of Ancient Origins: Backgammon is believed to have originated over 5,000 years ago in Mesopotamia, making it one of the oldest games still played today. It has evolved through Persian, Roman, and European cultures to become the game we love today.
The Game of Kings: In the 17th century, backgammon became a favorite pastime of European aristocracy, often associated with luxury and leisure.
Backgammon in the Jet Set Era: The 1970s saw a massive resurgence, with backgammon tournaments becoming a glamorous staple in high society—perfect for Miami’s ongoing renaissance vibes!
A Tool for Strategy: Even in ancient times, backgammon was considered a game of both luck and skill, a balance that mirrors life itself.
See you at the board!
