November Wrapped, December Ahead

New cities, new stories, same beautiful game

November unfolded with the kind of momentum we love: full rooms, new faces, and a growing sense of community across our cities.

We announced our first event in New York City coming up on Dec 8th at Beefbar, we shared a memorable night with Material Good in Miami, we welcomed new players at Mr. C Coconut Grove, and enjoyed the growing Philly gammoners with a full house at Sonny’s Cocktail Joint.

To give you more of ourselves we launched a Spotify account (link below) curated by Hailey from the Philly team, introduced our first Weekly Position posts to bring a touch of strategy to your style, and continued doing what we set out to do in the Bay Area, London and beyond: build spaces where people feel like they belong.

This month, we also began curating a series of photography and art posts on our Instagram that reveal the deeper visual story of backgammon: its ancient roots, its cultural echoes, and its ongoing presence in modern life. From archival images to beloved icons caught mid-match, these glimpses remind us that the game has always been part of a larger tradition.

Backgammon is ritual carried into modernity, a bridge between eras, and a reminder that we’re participating in something with history behind it and meaning ahead of it.

As part of this gifting mood, we’ll also be sharing a small holiday gift guide on the next newsletter chosen by HG and unveiling our new website curated through the same lens by Florentina our partner in Philly. Two early gift ideas are firstly, the image featured below which is available as official estate-approved Slim Aarons prints on 1stDibs, (we have included the link) and secondly the Beach Board by GMcgee (linked below as well).

Belonging feels especially present this time of year. The holidays remind us that we’re all part of a wider net of relationships, routines, and rituals, and we’re grateful that you’ve made space for backgammon within yours. Or maybe backgammon made space for us?

This was our holiday event a year ago in Miami. Miami was cold and we could wear sweaters hehe! Can’t believe how much we’ve grown since then.

Either way, December is the brooch that closes the year, and we’re stepping into it with a beautiful lineup of events across all five of our cities:
