Let’s review some April highlights…
London had a tournament night at Tramp with Isaya. San Francisco played across Rivian cars. New York showed up at Beefbar & KABIN. LA at Soho Holloway. Miami… because Miami always celebrates… filled the whole month with sparkly occurrences.
May's looking same same, but different — like we like it. Surprise: we’re coming to Brooklyn!!

Yes, we are playing inside a RIVIAN car ;)

Partner Spotlight: Alsta
A Story Worth Playing For
Now and then, something crosses our path that just fits.
Over recent events, we’ve partnered with Alsta. Both Miami and London, winners have walked away with something that captures a balance we know well: history, with a modern edge. Ancient origins, modern nights.
In Miami, ✨Patrice✨ took it home, another winner with Lebanese roots. In London, it was ✨George✨, with Greek origins. We are not surprised!
The Alsta Nautoscaph Superautomatic is exactly the kind of piece that feels historic yet sleek. Some of you might recognize it from the wrist of Matt Hooper (Richard Dreyfuss) in Jaws: a true 1960s dive watch that’s lived more than one life.

Like many mechanical greats, it disappeared during the quartz era. And like the best stories, it didn’t stay gone. Decades later, it returned, not as a replica, but as a considered revival for those who value where things come from.
It’s interesting what happens when the prize carries a bit of history with it… dare we say people play a little better?

Conversation with the lucky winner - he could not believe that his watch was a piece of history

Congrats to our other champions this month who to our delight are women: Alice and Haya we salute you! Long live the queens of BGS ;)
Overheard at BGS
San Francisco:
A woman was sitting at home with her husband when she stumbled across the event online. She turned to him and said:
"Put on your pants, we're going to Backgammon Social." They ran right over.
Meanwhile, someone else had a different kind of game plan. A message from one of our London regulars, ahead of the Tramp tournament: “Let's see, aim is winning the watch on Tuesday and having a nice date on Wednesday."
Priorities, perfectly ordered.
The board has a way of sorting things out.
